AFTER THE SEASON - 'When we were free'

Sent to me by a Synthwave Project hailing from Split, Croatia 'After the Season' this sleeper caught me by absolute surprise.

It's an instrumental with tons of promise and certainly revels in that strong 80's Retrowave vibe you get from movies you think you've seen but can't quite put your finger on it.

The track itself opens with a somewhat distorted John F. Kennedy delivering his by now infamous speech in 1963 heralded as the most influential of any presidency in the modern era on the topic of War & Peace. It's a curve ball of an opener but the narrative could certainly be applied to today and the hardships the United States are facing at this very moment.

"So, let us not be blind to our differences, but let us also direct attention to our common interests and the means by which those differences can be resolved. And if we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal...."

Out now on all good streaming platforms.

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you...
